Homemade Irish Cream Liqueur Recipe

I've found a recipe for a homemade version of the famous Baileys Irish Cream. For the unfamiliar, Baileys Irish Cream is an Irish whiskey and cream based liqueur, made by Gilbeys of Ireland.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 and 2/3 cups Irish whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • optional: 1 teaspoon almond extract
Procedure:
  • Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Blend on high speed for 30 seconds.
  • Store in a tightly sealed container, and refrigerate.
Notes:
  • This should keep for up to 2 months. (I'm guessing that for Baileys lovers, one batch will probably not take so long to finish. Lol.)
  • Shake well before using. (Shake the *homemade Irish Cream*, not you!)

I'm not much of a Baileys drink fan, but I'm sure this recipe would come in handy for those upcoming parties this new year. Also, you could try using that homemade Irish Cream and make variations of the drink, such as Blended Baileys, Baileys Latte, and Baileys Shaken with Ice. (Just head on to the Baileys website for the recipes.)
