Black, White, Red... What are the Color Updates on Facebook for??

Curious as to why some girls are posting color updates on Facebook? You know, black, white, red, and so on. I didn't understand it too, but when I did some searching, I found this explanation:


"Some fun is going on…. just write the color of your bra in your status. Just the color, nothing else. It will be neat to see if this will spread the wings of breast cancer awareness. It will be fun to see how long it takes before people wonder why all the girls have a color in their status…" (via Mashable)

At first, it seems quite silly to post your bra color. I guess the goal here is to strike curiosity about the color updates, and for you to inform people that it is for breast cancer awareness. You can also direct them to the BreastCancer.org website, so that they could read more about the symptoms and diagnosis of breast cancer.
